Terms

Apple's licence, plus the plain bits.

Sonara is sold through the Mac App Store, and your licence to use it is Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, the standard terms that apply to every app on the store whose developer does not supply its own. We do not, so those are the terms.

Read Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement.

Worth stating plainly

None of this replaces the agreement above; it says how the agreement lands on this particular app.

  • Your documents are yours. Sonara writes plain JSON files to your own disk. Nothing here claims any right over the rooms, wiring or designs in them, and nothing about them is sent anywhere (see the privacy page).
  • Acoustic figures are estimates. Modal analysis, reverberation times, reflection paths and treatment suggestions are calculated from the room you drew and from published absorption data. They are a design aid, not a measurement. Build the room, then measure it.
  • Wiring and load figures are a plan, not a certificate. Cable schedules, power draw, rack weights and mount ratings are there to catch mistakes early. Check anything structural, electrical or load-bearing against the real thing, and involve a qualified professional where it matters.
  • Library data describes other people's products. Manufacturer and model names belong to their owners and are used to identify equipment. Absorption coefficients are manufacturers' own published measurements where published figures exist; where a product ships as a generic construction instead, its entry says so in the notes. No affiliation or endorsement is implied.
  • No warranty of fitness for a particular room. The app is supplied as it is. What you build from a plan it helped you draw is your decision.
  • Refunds are Apple's. Purchases and refunds go through the App Store, so ask Apple; we cannot process either.

If these terms change

A change would be published here, with the date below moved, before the release it applies to. If the standard EULA is ever replaced by custom terms, the old ones will stay readable here alongside the new.
